MeshCentral - OAuth SSO, Session Indicator, Korean Translation
- OAuth SSO support. Being able to integrate MeshCentral with other single sign-on providers makes it very convenient for users since they no longer need create an account on a MeshCentral server or remember passwords. Instead, they use their existing account and login directly. Last week NodeJS Password was integrated into MeshCentral for the first time allowing a large range of different authentication strategies including OAuth, a well-known system for performing single sign-on over the Internet.
- Twitter, Google, GitHub, Reddit SSO support. MeshCentral now has built-in support for OAuth single sign-on for four services. To make this work, your MeshCentral server will need to be on the Internet, have a trusted TLS certificate and you will need to configure your MeshCentral server with these providers. It’s free and involves getting an identifier and secret from the provider and configuring the URL callback for your service. Once done, a new one-click login button will show up on the MeshCentral login page.
- Real-time Session Indicator. This has been a requested feature from the open source community. MeshCentral now shows in real-time a blue icon on devices that have active sessions to them. If one of the users on MeshCentral is performing a remote desktop session to a device, other users that can also manage this device will see the icon indicating that a session is currently active. You can click on the blue icon to see what user and session type is currently ongoing. This feature was also implemented in the Desktop Multiplexor, so clicking the blue icon will show all sessions that are active on the multiplexor.
- Improved Korean Translation. Thanks to the excellent work for Ji-Hoon Kim (김지훈) from our open source community, MeshCentral now has improved Korean translation. This is part of ongoing work to improve internalization of MeshCentral. Thank you to Ji-Hoon for this work that benefits the community, it’s much appreciated.
